91-92 ground effects
What do you guys think about putting 91-92 ground effects on pre 91 Z's? Who likes those years better than the 82 and up?

Re: 91-92 ground effects
I like the clean simple looks of the 85-90 the best. I used to like the 91-92 the best and its still not bad. Thats what im putting on my 83 right now and i believe they are the closest to the ground of the 3. I also like how the chin spoiler sticks way out. My third choice would be the 82-84. Still an upgrade from no ground effects at all but IMO leave the car looking a lil high off the ground. Some people like those the best, but i prefer that racecar look.

I'm kinda in the agreement with you on that... Maybe it's a different style that is doing it IDK but just wondering... Trying to figure out if I wanna change the car up before I paint it.

I think you should have the ground effects for your year. I don't like switching them around. If you have an 82-84, get those graphics for gods sake. It makes the car looks correct and honestly unique since there aren't that many people that keep those years anymore.

So many people are doing this now that it makes it hard to identify what year a car actually is. Certainly doesn't help resale value either. I was into the whole 'minor appearance upgrades' thing when I bought my 02 T/A since they were all over the place back then and I wanted mine to be different -- now that they're not as common, I'm wishing I had left everything stock, and all I did was put decal overlays and fill-in's on it.

I've thought about that and other things as well... the thing about our third gens is if we want to go back to stock it isn't that difficult or hard to do.

Re: 91-92 ground effects
I like year correct ground effects in all cases... The 91-92 Z ground effects go well with the spoiler nd hood.
My favorite is the 85-90 ones...

I believe to add 91/92 gfx to the front of your 84, you are going to have to change the front clip to an 85+. The shape of the 84 is different.

Where do you guys find the GFX? Local salvage yards? Is it hard to put em' on?

Re: 91-92 ground effects
The ones in the salvage yards are beat. trash. Ebay is a good place to look for ones in decent shape but be carefull because alot of them are "easy fix" garbage. Classic Industries or Year One i dont remember which but one sells a complete aftermarket set for all 3 styles but they are spendy. You could try Hawks. Remember though if going from 82-84 to 85 and up you have to change the front and rear facias and up front ya got to take a sawsall and trim the impact absorber to get the facia to fit and slot holes in the fenders if putting on 91-92. Otherwise I think its just bolt on the rest of the way around if the car origionally came with ground effects.
