Quarter Panel repair

Quarter panel repair need an opinion on how bad this is and how much it would cost to fix(est) and what are my options

doesnt look like a 3rd gen....

take it to a shop and see, could get pricey quick if the rot is on the underside and wheel well too.

is he planning to keep the car? why are you fixing the rot? inspection? The car looks a bit rough in general.

Well if he has the work done by a shop I would say about ten times what the car is worth. I would move on because that style/year Malibu will be a pain to find parts for.

well the car was y uncles for years and he finally gave it to my cousin then my uncles son sold him a i believe a 79 le sabre so hes picking to work on the le sabre becauses its less work and my friend was thinking about buying it and i told him know what your getting yourself into before you buy a 500 car.....

it looks like it needs the quarters cut and welded thats what i think the rest of the car is solid just the quarters were getting ate up from sitting for some many years here in MICHIGAN

Based on the geographical location, model, year and visible rust condition of the outside of the car I bet the rear frame is rotted out and compromised.

Before put a penny into repairs make sure the rear frame is not done. Those things rot bad and fast back there!
