This is just my opinion, but I think if you had shaved an inch off the bottom of the spoiler where it mounts to the trunk lid, and where it meets the quarter panels, it would have lowered the overall height of the spoiler, and made it look a lot better.

That would require a lot more body work on the outer sides of the spoiler because it wouldn't be wide enough. The side pieces are slanted outwards as you go top to bottom. We had to use a little bit of filler to make it flush with the quarter panels already, bringing it lower would make the spoiler as a whole much narrower.
I like that its tall actually. If it was too short it would look like those goofy SE model Firebird spoilers.
