Rear hatch replacement

I replaced the rear hatch on my camaro yesterday. Well, I almost replaced it. After much effort getting the spoiler removed, I came to the realization that I don't know what to use to seal it back with. It's a thick rubbery substance, kind of like the stuff you seal a windshield with. Anybody got any ideas on what to use? The windshield stuff is too thin to make a good seal.

I dont think so as it would never come off like that if it was. Id say it was an RTV subtance. I have used RTV in the past to do spoilers as if you ever need to tak it off it will come off pretty easy but will keep the elments out
