Hood bolt help please
Hi,
A long time ago I removed my hood but didn't take pictures of how the were
.
Does anyone have any shots of a stock firebird hood I can look at?
I can't get these 2 bolts to attach to the car. One of them is the one with the rubber cap on the bolt head. and the other is the one with the large washer.
See how the bottom holes aren't the same as the hood ones? I don't get this.

In the pic, the upper hole was for the rubber capped bolt. This was final height adjustment for the hood
Lower is standard large washer body bolt. Holds the hinge and fender to the nut-sert

Still puzzled on the large washer bolt though. Do you mean like there's a nut you put on the bottom of it to hold it in place? because The hole for the bolt is just a half circle..not even close for it to bolt down right.

oh wait is a nut-sert a nut welded on so you just put the bolt through?
Re: Hood bolt help please
See the metal tab thing under the fender? Thats got a threaded center hole to accept the bolt. Its way out of alignment right now, use a screwdriver to push it back under the fender
