1989 Camaro

Hi I am re-doing my whole camaro starting with sanding down the whole thing to the metal. I'm looking for a decent spray paint gun, I was told by a paint professional to get an HVLP spray gun with a 1.3 tip or 1.4 but I don't seem to remember if he said if I should or if I shouldn't get one that's gravity fed. Can anyone help me out thats' painted their car before with suggesting a gun? My price ranged is probably on going to be up to $150 for a gun since I've already invested over a grand into the car.

Seriously
The Purple harbor freight HVLP gun is so much better then any of my old Sharp suction guns it's not even funny.

I know I'm starting a fight here but just spend $20 on the purple gun and keep it clean. You wont be sorry.

Grab two from Harbor Freight. One HVLP gravity fed with a 1.7-2.0 tip for primer and one with a 1.3-1.4 for paint.

harbor frieight has two purple guns, one is really cheap and disposable, the other is actualy pretty good.

the good one runs in the $40-60 range, depending if it's on sale. still a great price. It's a bit of an air hog though, one shouldn't expect to use it for overall painting with a small compressor

Re: 1989 Camaro

I have a very large compressor so that shouldnt be a problem haha. But I heard all harbor freight paint guns were just throw-aways?

Re: 1989 Camaro

most people that give it an honest try say it's pretty good. I sprayed with it once, and it was ok, but the next time I'm going to open up the air control all the way, I didn't get the atomization I needed, but i'm not going to blame the gun for that

. three are other good guns to consider for under $100 too. The gunsa gun is one of them. also look at the finishline 3.
