Hi,

I am getting set to repaint my 1988 Camaro IROC and want to replace the front Bumper Cover and front lower spoiler.

Is there much of a difference between the original GM units or the reproduction urethane units?

Is there a particular brand of urethane front units that anyone could recommend?

Can anyone recommend a good place to buy these urethane units?

I've found some pretty good deals on new GM urethane bumper covers (thirdgenranch seems the best), but it's hard to find a new spoiler.

Just buy the GM bumper cover. You'll be glad you did. You can get it for under $300 to your door from GM Parts Direct.

As for the chin spoiler, its luck of the draw. Some repros are horrible, others have said theirs were great. I'd probably go with a used GM one, provided it isn't sagging horribly, which they probably all are.

This is my same dilemma. Classic Industries sells repo chin spoliers. Im not sure how good they are.

Re: Urethane Bump Cover - Best Replacement Option
I'm trying to avoid a used chin spoiler because of the cost and hassle of getting it blasted and stripped before painting.

The chin spoiler would need replacement more often than bumper covers, so I guess the supply of chin spoilers has been used up. Wonder why more haven't been made?

It's very hard to find a good used front/chin spoiler.

They all seem to have bad cracks on the side and be worn thru on the bottom in the middle where they must scrape speed bumps etc.
