Re: HURRICANE IRENE ALMOST DESTROYED MY IROC

Glad to hear you got your car to a safer location, Irene is fast approaching my location and I only managed to pack my Trans Am into the garage. My firebird is still right out in the driveway and its really bugging me!

Re: HURRICANE IRENE ALMOST DESTROYED MY IROC

my power keeps cutting in and out.

Im more worried than a dad would be leaving his son out right now.

Its in a parking garage, ive checked on it 4 times since 3 o clock.

Its just picking up, although the branch fell a few hrs ago.

Anyway, i hope everyone can keep their cars safe through this storm, aswell as themselves.

power keeps coming back on after numerous outages

I dont want to see the thirdgen count drop as a result of this!

Re: HURRICANE IRENE ALMOST DESTROYED MY IROC

Thank goodness it did not hit your car!

Word of advice to anyone in a windstorm/hurricane/whatever - do not park your car anywhere near trees or anything that can easily be blow/fall on your car. You can also file that under put your car on high ground if an area floods. You might have to walk a bit, but it beats walking while your ride is totaled.

Re: HURRICANE IRENE ALMOST DESTROYED MY IROC

Reminds me of when Ike came through here, I left my car under a rinky little car car port, which was strong enough to hold up a pine tree that could otherwise landed straight down the middle of my car!!!! Glad to hear you moved your car and hope everyone is safe and well stocked, being without power for nearly a week can make people edgy to say the least lol.

Re: HURRICANE IRENE ALMOST DESTROYED MY IROC

I have no garage to work on my cars either, not even a concrete slab.Only gravel or dirt.I'm in the middle of an engine swap amongst the other things I'm doing in the process.A huge tree snapped off at the middle and almost crushed my Z28,it landed about ten feet away,I have my engine wrapped up tight on a stand and the tree fell closer to that.I live in Virginia, less than an hour from Waldorf Md,here are a few pics.

Re: HURRICANE IRENE ALMOST DESTROYED MY IROC

I live in FL, exact reason I'm looking for a home with a garage....

I know it sucks to lose property to things like that, but "stuff" can be replaced...
Not the people....

Re: HURRICANE IRENE ALMOST DESTROYED MY IROC

I stayed at my parents house in Greenville for Irene. Look what missed my Camaro by a few feet.

I parked under my big pecan tree one day because i needed shade while i worked on my car, i didnt move it and a bad storm came through that night. The branch went across the entire front end, about 6 inches from hitting my A-pillar, which would have totaled the car.
