Most of the time you will need to cut all the rust out and put new metal in. but if you just have a small spot. you can sandblast it. and just use some touch up,as a fast fix. but in most cases you will need to cut it out

I'm gonna go get some picture now. When I work on my 86 Monte Carlo for racing, looking nice isnt what the end goal is in, so im not sure I know how to fill in rust with metal and make it look nice. lol just cut a piece of metal big enough then weld it over the cut out whole and sand it down to smooth it out? We usually just weld and leave it cause its not going to look pretty anymore. Pics in a few minutes. EDIT: First picture on left is driver side tower, second is the hatch back below the fin thing. I also have it on the rear wheel wells(go figure) and I am concerned because it is a A-frame car, about rust behind the wheels on the body where it goes up and over the axel. how would I go about fixing rust in there?
