Camaro Hatch Interchagable
Camaro Hatch Interchagable
Short version, will a 91 Hatch with highrise spoiler swap onto my 87 Z28.
Long Version, My 87 Z28 is getting her paint tomorrow. Backed her into and ruined the side spoiler. The hatch on the inside behind the plastic molding is pretty rusted so I figured I would get a new hatch. I found a 91 hatch with glass, no defroster, and the highrise spoiler. I am wondering if a 91 hatch will fit my 87
An answer tonight would be awesome
Thanks alot

Short version, yes.
Long version, im assuming that you have the three piece spoiler now. If you swap to the highrise it will leave holes in the quarter panel from the old spoiler that will have to be welded shut. Im assuming that you currently have a defroster glass. You can also just swap the metal panel on to your defroster glass if you wise to retain the defroster.

Re: Camaro Hatch Interchagable
Should fit pefectly fine.
Side note(that may or may not matter): The only thing im unsure of is if you have the hatch pulldown motor wether or not it will work with the latching mechanism on the new hatch. GM redesigned the hatch pull down assembly for the 90-92 model years, as well as the latch. That should be an easy fix though. Just swap the old latch onto the new hatch.
