I just picked up this 1984 Z28 for $1100.00. Needs some work ie small body dings etc... I put the Centerlines on it from a previous car. Interior is in awesome shape. Has the stock 305 in it. Odo shows 70,000 and smokes just a little when started. Needs exhaust repaired and paint redone as it was repainted white on white. I am in the process of doing the AndyZ28 hinge repair and replacing the door handles right now. Did I do okay as a car for my rebuild ??

 

Runs, has 70,000 miles, looks like the body is in good shape for a 27 year old car. I'd say you did well.

Whats with the 3rd brake light? I don't think that was a factory location was it?

 

history buffs correct me if I am wrong, 82-84 there is no third brake light, 85-86 they are outside glass on top of the hatch, 87-92 inside glass on top of hatch or a part or rear lip spoiler. That is an aftermarket piece....

 

correct except its 82-85, 86 is the only year with it on the outside.

 

Could be aftermarket it is mounted on the roof not the glass, but it is it is an excellent job. The title says 1984

 

It's aftermarket or atleast not orig from a camaro. They always were on or in the glass or spoiler never on the roof like that. Doesn't look to bad though.
