Can this fender be adjusted?

This is one of the small items that bug me on this car. It is a 79,XXX mile car but this fender is bowed out. Can I adjust the bottom bolts and bring it in a bit? Can I space out the door with shims to bring it out? What is the best way to attack this?
Thank you in advance.

Re: Can this fender be adjusted?

Look underneath it, where the factory jacking place is.
If it's bent, that **may** be the cause. Sometimes people use a floor jack in the area to raise the car.

There is a thread how to fix it, but I don't recall the title.

Re: Can this fender be adjusted?

My car has the same issue on the same fender. It's from the PO placing a jack under it in the wrong place.

Re: Can this fender be adjusted?

This was the way my fender looked on the drivers side....Its the pinch weld underneath the car. Just like everyone mentioned--the prior owner jacked it up in the wrong place and the fender moves as a result. Fix the pinch weld underneath the car and the fender will go back to where its supposed to be.

Re: Can this fender be adjusted?

Thank you all. I will try this maybe tonight. That little stuff that can be fixed drives me nuts. Now that the issue seems fairly simple I am much happier. I do appreciate the time to look up a link for me and the replies.

Re: Can this fender be adjusted?

Thank you all for the help. Wow, that was not too tough, not perfect yet but VERY close. I will get my big floor jack out and work on it some more but it is almost perfect now. Wow - I'm making progress on this thing. Glad for this forum!
