So I go to get some gas, pop open my fuel door and the damn thing snapped off at the plastic. Has this happened to anyone else? What'd you do to mend it? If you didn't fix it, what did you do to replace it? I did a bit of searching and found that the 99-04 mustang bullet fuel doors actually fit our cars, if that's true it'd be nice if someone could vouch for that.

I really don't care about putting a rustang part on my car, anything looks better than no fuel door..If that mustang door fits, I did find a site that sells some in black for $70.

This is also one of those instances where I wish I didn't drive a car with such a unique color..because of some chevy truck fuel door fits, I'm sure the chances of me finding a purple one are pretty slim..

easiest fix is to replace it with an oem. i have seen a few pics on here where someone put one of those billett or chrome lids on.

 

So my best bet would probably be go to a dealer?

 

dealer for a new lid? hell no. try locally at a wrecker yard. probably get it for 5 bucks. if not, let me know. ive got one i can get out to you for shipping and a six pack. probably 12 bucks if that..

 

paint shop would probably charge you ~ $25 to paint the lid factory purple haze as well...

 

I've got a maroon/purple??? locking one.
