85 BERLINETTA SPOILER ???
85 BERLINETTA SPOILER ???
OK...so I've got an 85 Berlinetta...and the lift gate spoiler is having issues. I guess they are gaskets...or seals? But either way they are cracking and I'm afraid the spoiler is going to fall off....there is quite a bit of play in the spoiler/fin right now. Does anyone know where to get replacement gaskets or seals?
Added: I should also mention that I'm not entirely sure that this is the original liftgate.

Re: 85 BERLINETTA SPOILER ???
That looks like a 1988 Sport Coupe Spoiler, called a "One Year Spoiler" / "shorty" wing , that was actually only produced for half a year before going back to the standard one. Here it is on my Iroc-Z.When we painted the car we eliminated the plastic inserts using rubber washers on the mounting bolts and compressing them until the spoiler was a micro hair from touching the desk.

Re: 85 BERLINETTA SPOILER ???
Thanks, if i remember correctly it took two rubber washers per bolt. Just buy a hand full of them an go from there , don't get them to much larger than the bolt/mounting holes and just slowly and carefully tighten the bolts from below with out breaking any thing. I never tried to find the original plastic inserts because of there tendency to break over time.

Re: 85 BERLINETTA SPOILER ???
Hey guys....if you look at my first picture, the one with the 3rd break light, you can see that the spoiler "riser" is cracking too. I'm not sure if the rubber washer will be a good fix....I'm starting to think that a new used spoiler would be better. If anyone has one for sale....please let me know.
Re: 85 BERLINETTA SPOILER ???
Well guys, I've been searching on and off since posting this. Does anyone have any leads the could point me towards? I sure would appreciate it. I'm looking to replace the spoiler because of the damaged center "riser".
Thanks in advance
