need help removing dash
I have a 92 camaro rs, i was in the process of finishing patching some rust on the pass. side kick panel and was almost entirely done with the rust repair on the car when a spark from the welder jumped up ontop of the heater/ac box insulation and caught it on fire. so to see the damage i took the dash out but i have the dash all the way off the fire wall and laying on the seats, and all connectors dissconnected but there is one harness that runs on the drivers side to the rear speakers and it looks like it goes to the center console also, there is no dissconect on this harness, so my question is how is the dash fully taken out?? is the harness taken out of the dash and left hang?

The harness goes from the c100 (firewall) to the third member (fuel pump harness) with no dissconect in between. Not to mention it spiderwebs everywhere in between.
I have a complete interior A/C assembly if you have trouble locating one pm me.

yea i finally got the dash all the way out this morning had to take the duct work off the dash then take harness out of the dash. i already bought the inner heater/ AC box off thirdgenranch, but as far as the vats box can i just leave the pass key box out? because the vats system is disabled through my custom chip.

it destroyed the heater box, melted the defrost ducts and pass key box, and pass key harness, and like 1ft of the harness that runs on the top of the fire wall, was not as bad as i thought it would be. water damage is prolly the worst.

Re: need help removing dash
i believe if the vats key is wrong or there is a fault in the vats system it will allow the car to start but will not let it run for over like 10sec or so. i may be wrong but i am pretty sure the car will star but not run if there is a vats problem. my vats is diabled through my custom computer chip so idk what the outcome will be if i do not put the vats/pass key box back in.
