Re: ttops

Very difficult to read this post!! Are you familiar with punctuation? It helps break out the sentences into segments which leads to improved readability. You also might want to use the spell check feature.

As for the TTops, can't help out without knowing which ones you have. There are C&C aftermarket plastic tops and there are factory plastic (acrylic) tops. The glass tops are a direct swap with the factory acrylic tops.

Re: ttops

if theyre both the same type, ie c&c tops, or factory tops. c&c tops interchange with c&c tops, factory interchanges with factory. they dont interchange between the 2.

There are two (that I know of) types of latches on the factory T-Tops (one hook style and one "pin" style). The 82 ones are likely hook and the 92 pin (I think somewhere in the middle they changed). So they will fit the opening but will not latch down.

To get them to work you will have to change the anchor points and the interior trim on the car.

Actually there is 3 types. The hook style, the small pin style, and the small pin style with the large plastic sleeve encasing the small pin.

Re: ttops

c&c tops are all plastic and have a different shape than factory. factory tops came in both plastic and glass.

I see the spell check feature is still broken on your computer. Come on. Help us out. I just looked at other posts of yours and see that this is pretty common. Is there a reason we should waste our time trying to figure out what you're saying?

Re: ttops

Easy. Remove the interior plastic of the ttop and inspect the plastics for a GM part number which should start with 140*****.

Re: ttops

I had a friend come over and look at a set of glass t-tops I had taken out of a 90 bird. They had the pin that worked by a handle. His 91 rs camaro has a set of plastic tops. The plastic tops have a metal trim running along the edge.to look at the plastic trim there wasn't a visable differance.the seal on the plastic tops exstended further than the glass.the seal on his car was higher than the bird on the interior most side of the seal.Is it possible to use the 90 bird tops on his 91rs,by changing seals or trim?OH,Buy the way,Not everyone is good with spelling.I sure am not.The spell checkers take up alot of time to figure out.My cell phone drove me nuts.Spellchecker even tells me I'm not spelling my last name right.I checked my birth records.Spell checker don't know everything.Give us bad spellers a little slack!

Re: ttops

Dude, you need to use proper grammar. Break the sentences. There are too many run-ons. I don't wanna help you with your language arts skill. But if the spelling doesnt matter to you, Ill unsubscribe to this thread.

Re: ttops

I haven't seen C&C t-tops in lexan, only glass. I'll add yet another version of t-top to the discussion. There are two versions of C&C t-tops. Most latch similar to the factory version. There is another version of C&C that can flip up in the rear just as many sunroofs do. I have only seen two cars with this style of C&C t-top.

Re: ttops

Measure the length of the glass from windshield portion to hatch portion.
Then measure from a window portion to the roof " T ".

Post your finding.
