Help me I.D. The name of this part... 92 camaro
OK guys, my new project car has a few broken pieces and i dont know the name of the parts so i need help. Its the panel where the headlights bolt into. Gray plastic pieces. Or well looks like its a 2 piece unit, but i havnt tore into it yet. But im needing a new one (or 2) for my Gfs 92 camaro, and i only have till feb to get the car done and this is one of the last parts to get. Id hate to give her the car as an anniversary present and the car not be driveable.

thats the headlight harness. it's all One piece (connects from one side of the front bumper to the other), you'll need to remove the bumper cover to replace that piece.
it's not that difficult to do.

Header panel? I'll search the headlight harness see what i come up with... i have to remove the bumper anyway... its tore all to heck... gonna be replaceing it
But yes the part directly behind the headlights, its what the headlights bolt to.

That looks correct however I havent heard it called that. if theres a scrap yard nearby I suggest just going to one of them and getting one.

A harness is for electrical, that would be be the header panel it attaches to the core support (radiator)

Try this, look online for a cupon code and you may be near the $300 mark

Thanks again Droptop! Classic Industries is a great company. I have a wishlist with them already for my black 92 Camaro... if I ever deside to restore it, or just keep it in race form. The Green 92 Camaro (one that needs the parts) isnt gonna get a real nice work over, its a prior salvage car (non wreak, it was impounded) but the title makes it not worth squat.... So its the new Daily driver... The 92 T-Top has some very interesting background and would make a GREAT restorer piece... but most of the stuff that made it #3 of 9 is gone... only thing that remains is the blown motor sitting in the barn.
Haps you may be correct... "technical" names get discarded very fast, my friend Mark who worked for GM for... 20ish years, called it a header panel, so thats what i searched for... and found it.. He then started giving me all the "slang" words for GM body parts... some of them are real funny.

I got my car crashed... so that part was broken when I got the car.

I got a new bumper cover from GM, but had to get the plastic light retainer (grey) from pick n pull... It was not fun getting off, but no biggie.

The plastic (It's actually made of fiberglass) gray panel that holds the headlights is called the header panel.
