Re: FIREBIRD HOOD

You asked & you shoulda known. It is, after all, probably THE most hated hood. Those who like it are few & far between, so don't act surprised.

Because its gaudy and ugly. How they managed to do both in one hood I'll never know..
It needs some air shocks, curb feelers, back off mudflaps and chrome 14" wheels that stick out 4inches to go with it. Oh, cant 4get the 6ft tall whip antenna to complete the ensemble!

Re: FIREBIRD HOOD

Ya that thing is a horrible excuse for a hood. Im normally pretty open minded about what people want to do to their cars, but slapping this thing on a 3rd gen is about as blasphemous as dropping in a turbo'd four banger.

Looks fine to me. It's bulky but beats the huge ****ing cowls people put on.

Re: FIREBIRD HOOD

The only hood that comes close to that and I actually like is the IMSA hood. Which is basically a double powerbulge hood.

The only aftermarket hood I really drool over is the Ram Air 1 hood that came on LT1s. (not the one found on 98-02 TAs)

Re: FIREBIRD HOOD

Never seen one on a Firebird. Personally I don't think it'll look too bad at all once its painted. But really, do what you want to, its your car, not ours lol

Re: FIREBIRD HOOD

Formula hoods are the best and only hoods meant for firebirds, IMHO. The rest are ugly to me, except GTA/T/A hoods.

Re: FIREBIRD HOOD

i too like the IMSA hood, but nobody has one oddly enough....

the RAI hood can work on 91-92 birds, not the earlier ones.

as for the hood provided by the OP, no i have not seen on on a bird till you posted a pic. Im not a fan. Hawks apparently did a mod to that hood for the "stormtrooper" car they built and that version of the hood looked pretyy good. The just smoothed it out and got rid of the horrid vents on the side

That hood was a completely custom deal based on the IMSA hood, thats what Bruce told me, if I remember correctly .

I have an IMSA hood that is still in prep for paint. There is one member on here that has one, see if I can dig up the pic.
