My 83 is getting a Storm Gray paint job.
About 4 years ago I had my car painted what it is now. Since then there have been a number of instances resulting in chipped paint and small scratches. Over the summer I was forced to leave it at a dealership because of a breakdown (long story). All I wanted them to do was an oil change and when I came back the door and fender was all scratched and dinged. They agreed to pay for the damage. (getting it in writing and signed). So while i'm at it might as well do it all at once. My buddy Steven will be doing most of the work since I work 42 hours a week and go to school 4-5 nights a week. I really like the gray as seen in the attached picture of the Nova. Along with the paint I will be getting a Hawks 5" spoiler, Sunoco hood, and new front chin spoiler. I hope its going to turn out pretty nice! Any suggestions/tips/opinions are welcome. I will be updating this thread weekly as the work gets moving.

Yup, thats what I'm going for. Might even be the same paint code. Took some searching but that dark gray is just bada$$ looking in my opinion. Even better with tinted windows and black/dark rims.

Solid? No stripe this time? I like the stripe you had, sort of. I would have done the rear & up portion a bit different, but that is my choice & only you have to like what you have, right?

The old paint scheme I had was an attempt to duplicate the old motion cars. I think I am sticking with a solid color now. If I do anything it would be 2 straight forward stripes down the hood. Valics, yea what is that code? I want something darker I think. I found the code WA391E, or PPG code 5407.

The project is on its way. Quite the day getting it up to my buddies though. No traction in 3rd gear caused my right rear tire to deflate. Then realized I had a cracked windshield. After the car was put up on a lift, both rear coils were found busted. I'm guessing both the coils and the windshield were caused by hitting nasty frost heaves. Oh well... here's some pictures.

hey guys sorry, I will grab the code today. I meant to respond sooner but have been a bit stressed, the garage my car was in was one of those metal framed canvas garages and the other day we had some nasty wind and it flipped over and off of my car. I have been arranging estimates and dealing with my insurance, I will get the code today and post it by the end of the day sorry

You are also replacing the only part that makes the 82-84 cars look better than the rest of the third gens.
I'm sorry, but this car won't be my cup of tea.

I can respect that opinion. I like how these parts exaggerate current body lines, plus I really do need a taller hood. I am currently running a 2" drop base under the stock hood which is no good for performance. Atleast it will still have the 82-84 front fascia and chin spoiler if that makes you feel any better haha.

Yeah, good call on keeping the skirts stock but adding the tall rear spoiler.
I bet you can't wait to get it home..
