I found several places with the weather stripping kit, some show 8 pieces, the others 4, but the price is about the same.
My question is what are the other 4 pieces in the 8 pice kit?

in a 8 piece kit depending on which one it is as I couldnt tell you what is exactly in it as i dont have a pic or link to it. I figure these would be the pieces

left and right t-top weaterstiping
left and right doors
left and right t-tops on the edge of the glass
hatch
cowl

some do come with the inner and otter window sweeps insted of the hatch or cowl pieces

Like i said there are many variations like mine was a 5 piece. just get the one you need

 

4 would be body seals and t top seals
The 8 piece would include the drip edge seals - I think.
The only one I have seen sold like that is the OER - I have not heard good things about it.
Do a search. There are varying opinions on which is best.

 

2 pieces as you siad are for the body, 2 to seal top of door windows, remaining 4 pieces all look the same.

The extra pieces are for the drip edge. That's the piece of plastic that hangs over the window to divert water from going into the car. The only reason I can see for needing 4 pieces for that is maybe 2 are an adhesive tape. Either way, that is the OER kit. Don't get it. The other kit looks like it might be Soffseal. I am going to give those a try, as I know a few people who used them with success.

Either way - ask them what you are getting before ordering.

 

The other 6 pieces are for the T-tops them selves as there is a inner and outer weather stripping on them as well. They arnt needed if yours are good
