Can you fit the grille insert (like is shown below) for an 85-90 Camaro in an '84 front bumper fascia? Shape seems the same, but don't have anything to compare with here.

 

i dont think you can, i believe the fascia is way different, but i could be mistaken

 

Nope, won't work. The grill on a pre 85 is about two inches smaller than an 86+. I'll post some pictures tomorrow night maybe of a 85's grill compared to a 92 RS (which is the same size as an iroc grill)

 

the 84 was the most different than any other third gen year. the only way to make it fit would be to modify alot of the front bumper..i wouldnt try it though

 

Thanks guys, that's pretty much what I thought, but wasn't sure. Guess I'll stick with just painting that area black when we repaint it - starting next week!

 

I have a 92 rs in paint.bought a duraflex iroc style bumper cover. before really thinking I purchased a 92 rs grill coming in mail.will this fit on iroc style bumper thanks

But to answer your question, yes - 85-92 all front bumpers on ground effect equipped Camaros are the same part. So a Z28 grill insert will fit an RS, etc.

82-84 Camaros are unique to themselves, 85-86 coupes are unique, etc. But 85-up they all interchange except for 85-86 coupes without ground effect moldings.
