I just bought a 91 Trans AM. I am trying to repair the common head lights wont come up problem. Both the motors still make noise, so I figured they just needed the bushing kits. When Inspecting the driver's side. I noticed that the bracket that holds the assembly in place is broken.

I am trying to find a car in the bone yards with the part. What years firebird or trans ams will this part interchange with? Also where is a good place to get the bushing kits for the headlight motors? Thanks. I have also included a pic of the broken bracket.

 

Top Down Solutions have a kit that will allow you to fix both lights. It is THE BEST lol. The site might be down still but give them a call and they will get you situated.

 

that back mounting bracket should be replacable with any that have the same headlight motor mounting. I wanted to check mine to see the motor mounting but have not had time. I do know that the inner bucket etc will swap out without a problem from the earlier style to the later style, so it would then be just the actual headlight motor mounting if a problem. Should be any with that particular style headlight motor, check the wiring to tell, and maybe all years that are compatible.

 

That bracket is the same for all 1982 - 1992 Firebird's; remember they are left and right handed so grab the correct side :-)

Obviously I did not know that. It is good to know if I would ever need to swap one out. I thought so but did not want to give wrong advice. Thank you for more complete information on this.
