Painting Chrome

Couldn't find the "paint" forum so figured it'd go best here. Thinking about painting the outeredges of my flatbed on one of the trucks chrome so it would match the tool boxes. Talking about where it is smooth and not diamond plated. Has anyone ever painted using chrome paint and if so, how will it look? I don't want to look like the typical red-neck.

The chrome paints at the auto & hardware stores are hardly a chrome finish at all. You should check out www.spazstix.com and search for their Ultimate Mirror Chrome Paint. It will give you a TRUE mirror finish and should help distinguish you from the 'rednecks' you are talking about

One more things. You will want your surface to be as smooth as glass for the best results! The more prep time you put into it, the better your mirror chrome results will be.

Good Luck! Post some pictures when it's done!
