RPO question
I have an 89 iroc. I am in the process of a complete restore. I'm trying to figure out what color the factory stripe colors were. The rpo code is 90a. I've seen two different answers to the codes one says yellow and silver and the other says black and a odd color. It currently has silver and blue but the original owners had them add to the car when they first got it. I actually have the receipt showing they changed them at 900 miles. Any help would be great. I've been looking around here and you guys know your stuff, I'm very impressed with this site. Thanks

Re: RPO question
Thanks to my handy-dandy RPO Decoder (Can be found here for you to have: https://www.thirdgen.org/rpodecoder)
90A says "90A: STRIPE COLOR, ACCENT, TWO TONE GOLD/DK AUBURN (91)"
I can't make too much out of that, other than the car was maybe two tone gold(?), but some of the more experienced members might be able to help you with that.
Good luck!

Re: RPO question
Thanks. And I did use the decoder which is very handy. But when I look in the restore mags for 1989-1990 none of them offer that color but they offer the silver and yellow. Thanks for the quick response.

Re: RPO question
BTW, welcome to the site!http://www.hawksthirdgenparts.com/ca...stripekit.aspx
Go here. I have a hunch that the Black/Brilliant Gold (88-90) is the color you are looking for. Yours is an '89 IROC-Z, right? They only used that color on '88-'90 IROC's. (Hence the 88-90) The only other Gold for selection is for standard '85-'87 Camaros, not the IROC. This also wouldn't work because yours is an '89. I do not know about the selection of products and colors on Hawk's, but I feel that it's pretty good.
All the info I'm giving you comes from me, an inexperienced 15 year old kid that hasn't had a 3rd Gen yet, and what I can gather lol, so take my info with a grain of salt. I'm waiting on one the the more experienced members to come and help you (and me) out on this.
Re: RPO question
What color is your car? GM reused RPO codes over the years, so the listing above is not correct for any 3rd gen Camaro. Based on what you said of yellow/silver, I'm thinking you have a white car. All stripe colors in 1989 used black with gold, red, blue or silver or yellow/silver

Re: RPO question
Yes sir it is white. Im thinking its going to be the silver and black. Thanks for all the quick responses.
Re: RPO question
In 1989, the only options available for white, were silver/yellow, black/red, and black/gold. The stripe color followed the interior color. A red interior got the black/red. A tan interior got the black/gold. Black and gray interiors got the silver/yellow.
