anybody else remove their consoles?

I still have the switch and radio as seen in the picture below:



but I removed the entire console and am getting new carpet so those holes aren't there and a B&M Pro Ratchet shifter in order to get a cool looking floor mounted one.

I really like it with the console gone, I'm sure a lot of people won't agree with me, but that's alright. I think you'll like it when I'm all finished.

I would like to do the same, I've seen it once and loved it. How is yours doing? Does carpet provide adequate insulation for the holes, or should I plug them? How did you lower your parking brake?

This is a 10 year old thread and the OP hasnt signed onto Third Gen in over 4 years.
Personally I couldnt imagine the interior of our cars looking very good without the console but to each his own.
