Front nose cover does not line up
I have a 89 Formula and was involved in a minor accident a while back. The body shop had to replace front nose cover it is a factory GM part but on passenger side where line is on cover where it goes up to fender by light it does not line up it is to far inside. Bodyshop says there is nothing they can do.Took it to another shop and they say GM parts are like that anyone have any info on this or what I could do would be appreciated. Thank you

Flexible plastic parts are only going to be so good. It's not uncommon for them to be off by as much as 1/4". It's possible to help the situation by shimming the fender and adjusting the hood.

I had the same problem when my 83 got whacked.
bought a replacment and it didn't line up...took about 5 hours of shimming, grinding, cutting, and alot of sweat (for the body shop guys )
It still never looked perfect.....while it was in the shop I cured the problem, I bought a 99

I have a similar problem. I've shimmed and adjusted as much as I can and there is still a small misalignment where the nose and the fender meet. Would a heat gun work to conform the rubber nose the the shape I want?
