Best way to replace door pin bushing?

Lower driver side pin bushing is missing and the door sags. Picked up a new bushing and want to know the best way to replace it. The spring looks like it could be a problem. Do I need to take the door off?

Thanks!

Yah, I just did this. You need someone to help you out. Get a floor jack with a 2x4 and padding and put a little bit of lift on the door from underneath. Unbolt the upper and lower hinges. Each one has 3 bolts; the bottom hinge is bolted from the inside and requires the inside panel to be removed to access them. Have a friend hold the door in place; you wont be able to remove the door completely because of the wiring, but you will have enough room to work. Remove the spring and the pin. Installing is a little difficult, you will need to compress the spring enough to get it in place. We used special pliars which were made specifically for this, if you dont have them youll have to find some other way. Try installing the spring first, then pull it out of the way so you can hit the pin in place. The new bushings make a world of difference...

Once you get the bushing an pin in just stop by a body shop. Even if they charge you 5 or 10, it is diff. worth it. Infact I stopped by a shop and they did it for free.

These guys are right on the money, floor jack to support the door, etc.

To get the spring back in, I compressed in in a vise, put saftey wire on two sides, dropped it in, and cut the saftey wire. You have to TOTALLY compress the spring to get it in.

my way is way better than a floor jack. i tied my ratchet straps (what holds my car to the trailer) from a rafter and made a loop in it for the door to sit in. i could raise or lower the door with the ratchet, plus swing the door with out it falling off, like it would on a jack. it was so easy it scared me.
