Alarm Siren
Alarm Siren
I just installed the computer behind the dash and all the other things including two shock sensors (long story, guy threw one in for free). Anyway, I was wondering where you all mount your siren. The hard-top car's siren was poorly mounted in IMO being mounted near where the CC goes. Any other ideas? I want this to be as close to invisible as possible. Thanks!

I've always thought that a nice un-obvious place would be inside the gap between the outer fender and inner plastic fender, between the tire and door.
The driver's side horns get mounted between the outer/inner fender, but they're between the tire and bumper. And as ya know those horns are still loud, so the alarm siren should be loud too. Oh well you could test-fit it anyway without drilling. Plus the theif would have a fit trying to pry the plastic inner fender away to get at the siren-- ever try going after your antenna? Ugh.
You could probably also mount it inside the front bumper; I don't know how much body work you want to do. Problem is, the bumpers on 82-84's were more intricately designed as to both the steel and honeycomb "impact absorber"; there might not be enough room to bolt the siren in, let alone wedge it in!
