who makes an alarm with the following features:

Power window rollup/down (via transmitter)
power lock/unlock (via transmitter)
power hatch (via transmitter)

standard alarm features (starter diable, siren, etc)
window rollup when the alarm is triggred

and will provide pretection to the interior if the t-tops are out ?

i saw a guy with something like this at school friday but forgot to ask what kind it was.

Most good alarm manufacturers will have alarms that can do everything you asked and more.

DEI makes many different models that you can add any/every option available just by plugging in modules.

I have a DEI Python 3000 with remote start, windows up/down, hatch, doors, etc, etc...

I'll actually hold back my opinion of the Avantguard. But I would take one of the old 900iq's

Hard to get past DEI when your in the market for an alarm.

I sell and install DEI products, so I can tell you what they make:

530t window roll-up module: $60 plus install
(This unit does 2 windows...all you need)

508D field disturbance sensor: $100 plus
install (Chirps when people walk near your car, triggers full alarm if hands or arms go inside your car)

Pager: I don't know the model number or price, but they do make one.

Sidewinder 6500 or Viper 550: $400 installed, full alarm with keyless entry, plus remote start.

Sidewinder 6000: $250 installed, full alarm but no remote start.

Keyless entry: included with most alarms, as long as you have power door locks. (If you don't have power locks now, figure on at least $60 per door to add them)

Power trunk release: As long as you have factory power trunk, you should just need an inexpensive relay ($5-15), and like ten minutes extra labor.

About window roll-up: The basic feature is that it closes the window when you arm the alarm. If you want to be able to control the up/down by remote, I believe you need extra channels on the alarm you buy. I've never done a window module before though...talk to your installer about it.


Another word about alarms: Don't choose an alarm by brand preference. The quality of your car alarm is based about 10% on product, and 90% on installation.

What you want to do is shop around for a good installer. Find one who actually likes doing alarms, and ask him what alarm he recommends. He'll do his best work if he has product he's familiar with.

Also, almost every alarm can benefit from extra parts...backup battery, mercury hood switch, glass-break sensor, et cetera. Even though the alarm says "$399 installed", figure on buying a few extra parts too.

 

Chris, they make a 2-stage field disturbance now? I have the "original" one from DEI.. it's only one stage. When hands go inside my car, the alarm goes off full strength- but I can't get a chirp if someone walks by. (The sensor's from '94.)
