4th gen wing project ( and other body progress)
hey guys... well im starting to pay attention to body detail on my car since im all done with interior most of the drive train parts..... i have installed a 93 fiberglass trans am wing onto my car..... i got tired of the crappy rubber areowing.. it looks really good on there and it looks alot more aggressive looking... its also half the weight and now my hatch easily opens up without dropping back down. The wing requires you to drill new holes and weld up the others... i still need to cut out the center posts and re fiberglass the bottom...
also i put a 3 inch hardwood fiberglass cowl hood on... this also made the car look alot more menacing.. its nearly half the weight as the stock hood and its bolt on...
i have another driver side fender thats in excellent shape... the one on there now some jerk side swiped my front fender.i replaced the front bumper already... it will be put on there before i get it painted
as you can see the front of the car is on jack stands.. im using nuffnuffz28s rims at the moment... Im getting my gta rims powdercoated black and the lips polished... car has prokit springs so it has a nice stance to it... i will have them back in a week or so...
car has 20 percent tint all around except windshield and all the lights except headlights are smoked, i have black gta emblems that im going to swap from my red gta emblems...its going well with my black/flame red combo....
then within a year i am going to have the whole car repainted flame red just like the factory color....
what do you guys think of my project car.... this is going to be a one mean looking gta when i get done with it....

Looks like you have a nice project going and the car should look good when done, but I am not a fan of the 4th gen wings. My rubber spoiler is shot and I'm thinking of going a differant route. I'm going to the local pull a part this wekend and will hope to pick up a wing from a 91 Firebird. I like the nice simple look of them-plus it's only like $14 bucks if there is still one on the car they have.

How does it attach along the window?
My rubber wing was toast so I've removed it and will be putting a standard spoiler on it for now. Eventually, I might change over to a wing again, but the cost of a fiberglass replacement wing is killing me!
Can I also ask about what you paid for it?

So the only things holding mine are are the 2 little studs at the front outer corners of the wing to the deck. After all these years I have had zero problems with it.

That wing kills the car to me... To each his own I guess. No hate here, that just looks bad to me personally

Personally I would have mounted the wing forward more (if possible) to be more inline with the rear bumper but I think it looks alright as is.
