Dashpad removal problem/overhead console question...

First of all, I removed the 4 screws across the top, and all of them under the front lip, I thought the thing would just lift out nicely, but it doen't budge at all. Am I forgetting a screw somewhere or do I just need to yank like heck on it?

Second: Got my overhead console in the mail today, damn sweet, should have it in tomorrow, but it came with a cardboard and styrofoam piece, square with a U shape cut out of it. What is it/where does it go? Thanks ahead.

It should lift out easy. Did you get all of them under the lip? I think there is 6 of them.

The cardboard piece goes under the headliner, foam side up, straight edge toward the windshield (I just stuck a bit of epoxy on mine to hold it against the roof). I had the advantage of having the headliner out at the time, but it might be possible to slip it in from the front.

The dash pad may just be stuck a bit. Once removed, you might consider tightening everything you can get a wrench on--also, a good time to swap speakers if you're going to.
