Highly Recomended HVLP System
I picked up a used Cambell Hausfield HV2000 system from a local Craigslist seller. He used it to stain/finish doors and trimwork in the home he was building. Little did I know that I was going to be doing the same thing with it until 2 weeks ago. But thats another story. I purchased online another gun for it and have kept it on the shelf. A couple of months ago I wanted to clean the interior of my car and pulled it into the garage forgetting there was a tool box in front of the car. Needless to say I damaged the nose on the bottom right in the center. After living through all the home remodeling here of late, I had the opportunity of getting back to my car. I used this system to paint the nose and passenger side fender. I love this system! Hardly any overspray! You can get close up and personal with the gun. You can spray within 4 inches of the surface you are painting. Very nice system and far superior to compressed air. 3 coats of color and 3 coats of clear. Here is the system and the car with the color and clear. If you are doing metalflake be sure to put some nuts in the gun to stir the flakes before each coat.

Re: Highly Recomended HVLP System
That looks great! I have the one from Harbor Freight that lays paint down smooth as glass with very little overspray too. I'm restoring a lawn tractor to practice my skills before I try it on my 87 TA......
