T-Top Warning

You guys just make sure that your T-Tops are fastened securely. My driver side started lifting off while i was driving during the summer and had to catch it with my left hand before it tried to lose me!!!!!

happened to. Got my car back from the body shop because it was in an accident. I was doing about 50mph on a 6 lane buisy road. I hit a slight dip in the road I hear a gush of wind and there goes my t top. It flew up about 50 feet in the air. I looked in my rear view mirror and see it come down about 10 seconds later and smash right in front of a turning car. Thank God he was stopped to turn or he would of had a t top in his car. The body shop did replace it as they had just had it off to fix the car.

I'd just like to thank everyone for turning me into some sort of paranoid freak regarding my T-Top safety.

Incidently though, I have heard of stories like these before.

Just the thought of this is horrid, i think i may make a t-top warning light, similar to the ones you get when the door or hatch isn't closed all the way

Too bad my friend didn't read this post before he took his 2000 camaro out for a 100mph drive. Amazingly, only one of the t-tops was destroyed in the disaster. All because he was to friggin lazy to pull the handles to secure them.

That's why I keep mine locked! Plus, it's WAY to easy to break into the car with them unlocked.
