The visor itself may not be the problem, but rather the hanger. The bullet-shaped rod on the hanger is supposed to be stationary but sometimes breaks, after which it rotates, causing the visors to come down regardless of how much you tighten it. I replaced the hangers and have had no problems.

You might have problems finding the hangers. I think they are pretty expenive at the dealer, and lots of them at junkyards have the same problem. I just took them off one day, and tightened the living crap out of the screw on the sunvisor that holds it onto the hanger. I have no idea it worked, but I'm not complaing!

Wouldn't it also be possible to remove the hanger from the visor, wrap a piece of paper or cloth around it, and then shove the visor back on over it? Just taking a guess; luckily, my visors are staying up!

Thank you all for the help on this. I have had 2 of these cars and never could get the visors to say up. I tried the tape routine on the hangers but no luck, tighten the screws on the vosors and hangers, no luck so will look for some new hangers.
Now If I could just get my convert top to stop sounding like the titanic sinking to the bottom of the ocean. Thanks again........bob

I used black electrical tape around the posts. It's held up for 3 years now. As a side note, I replaced the visor in my 90 Formula with one from a 92 because the 92's have a covered mirror. It's rather distracting to see your own reflection while driving,

The passenger side visor kept falling down. I took it apart to discover that the pin was rotating and shouldn't. I put it on my bench vise and used a punch to dimple the h*ll out of the upper side that wasn't visible. It took a very severe dimpling, but I finally got it to stop rotating and solved the problem. You may be able to solve it with epoxy or weather stripping adhesive. I only know what worked for me. Good luck, Lon.

I think the reason why the passenger side is weak is because of a girlfriend that uses to much makeup.

As a temporary fix use some Velcro.
