Help me adjust my window-Detailed Pictures
I'm in the proccess of adjusting my passenger side window. I now understand how to adjust it an every way except for one. And that is to tilt it. See my pictures below.
Problem:
When the door is open I can roll the window up flawlessly, then close it and have a nice seal. However, when the door is closed and I roll the window up, it leaves the gap as seen below.
I took a pic and labeled all of the adjusting screws, can someone tell me wich one I need to adjust, and in what direction.
Ive got about 4 hours into this window.
Thank you alot for any help.
EDIT:
I fixed the windows, and they are exactly how they should be. My memory might be off, but in my case, #7 and #9 were way out of adjustment. There is also another screw that is behind the door panel. It sits right behind #5, and the bolt sits vertically in the door. That one was way off aswell.

Re: Help me adjust my window-Detailed Pictures
Looks to me like you need to adjust #4 and #10.
When I adjusted my windows I took the t-tops off and loosened #4 and #10, closed the door and pulled the window in towards the seals to get a good tight seal, then pushed #4 and #10 against the glass and tightened them down. If the door becomes to hard to close, loosen and re-adjust slightly.

BTW the gap in the first picture is actually to the right. In other words if the whole window was moved/tilted to the left, there would be no gap.
I will try to adjust it tomarrow with the tops off.

Re: Help me adjust my window-Detailed Pictures
excellent diagram! thank you for doing that
can somebody tell me which bolts I need to adjust if the front edge of the window is just about an 1/8th of an inch away from sealing?
Obviously it's going to be 1,2, or 3, but it would be nice to know ahead of time

Re: Help me adjust my window-Detailed Pictures
I finally got the windows adjusted very well. The car doesn't even leak in the rain any more. I can tell you that really the only way to adjust them properly, is to dive in and see how everything works. Each screw works in unison with another. It's all one big system.
Most likely your window stop is a tad too low, so it probably is #3. If #3 is adjusted to low, you get wind noise, and the problem you have now with it not closing all the way. If you adjust #3 too high, allowing the window to roll up too high, you get wind noise. So keep that in mind. I would recommend adjusting it to where you think it is right, then take a quick drive and see if you have any noise, before you put the panel back on.
Also grab a can of WD-40 and spray pretty much everything that moves inside the door. Window tracks, motor/regulator gear, door actuators, door lock assembly, etc. It makes the windows and door locks work almost like new. HUGE difference for me on both of my doors.

The adjustment is actually behind the metal, under 7&9.Two bolts, vertical.Loosen them & the window will move in/out (at the top).
4 & 10 tighten the widow.
1 & 2 triangle seal, & two under the weatherstrip next to it.
3 & 8 up stops.
7 & 9 pivot the window.
5 & 6 back/forth adj.

Re: Help me adjust my window-Detailed Pictures
It ended up being #1 and 2. My triangle needed to be raised to allow the window to go higher.
FYI.. I also learned that #3 can be adjusted without removing the door panel. Just remove the Door trim plate.

Re: Help me adjust my window-Detailed Pictures
I take that back.. Turns out I didn't help things at all. Looks like I need to take it back apart and adjust #4 and maybe #10 to get the window to fall a little more inward against the seal.

Looks like it's a photobucket bandwidth issue. It will probably correct itself in a couple of weeks or less

Re: Help me adjust my window-Detailed Pictures
Hey guys,
Looks like someone put in a electric motor for the window and put in the wrong size rivets, so now the X is loose and won't go up all the way. Can i get some help on what i should do? Drill out the rivets and put new ones in?
The rivets that are loose are the red circled ones.
thanks

Great thread. I have some noise coming from the triangle area (I think), so am doing some research before pulling the door panel off.

Re: Help me adjust my window-Detailed Pictures
I wonder if there is any documentation in the GM literature dealing with window adjustment. Its quite alot of adjustment there. It all works together, but some adjustment is meant to fix certain situations more than others.
I know my windows definitely need to lean in towards the car more to seal tighter agains the body. But otherwise sit correctly. #4 and #10 in your pics are backed off and the window just still leans outwards too much. There's probably some bit in there that is too worn to adjust and needs to be replaced.
