hello, first of thanks for any help i recieve... i have a base model firebird and i recently bought this formula wrap around spoiler in amazing shape. However, it didnt come with any mounting harware .I was wondering if anyone noes where i could buy a kit or what materials i would need and any tips? Thanks again

 

There should be just the 4 studs at the bottom of the spoiler...you'll need to drill holes in your hatch for them, and then secure the studs with nuts which you will need to buy. Cars that came with this spoiler from the factory will have two raised "pins" on the rear hatch glass trim for positioning the sides of the spoiler; you'll have to do without these as you have a base model Firebird. Shouldn't be a big problem though, they're more for keeping the spoiler perfectly flush on the sides than they are for making sure it stays on the car. Just don't be surprised if it doesn't sit totally flush on the sides.

 

You will also need to plan on filling your old base spoiler holes.

 

What does your paint look like. If its in really nice shape ,without a gasket of some kind you can be prepared to have marks were the spoiler touches the deck. I have not seen the bottom of that particular spoiler but my wing mounted using rubber washers that not only made it water tight but also elevated the wing off the deck just a very small amount. As I said it may not work for you but I would at least seal the holes with something.

Here's what it looks like on mine.On the far side you can see a space closest to the light cover. Its a imperfection that came that way with the deck/wing .That is a 1988 one year shorty wing (actually only made for a half a year) that came on that deck from the factory,I had to remove it temporarily for paint.( the wing dose not touch the deck.)
