I was curious what everyone's thoughts are on the engine bay of either painting it black or painting it to match the color of the car. I'm trying to decide on how I want to go about it.

 

Body color. Anything else looks cheap/wrong.

 

That would really depend on what YOU want. Some cars look better with black engine bays to different people. For me, any brown car should get a black engine bay. For me, my car is going to be more of a show car than a daily driver, so I want it white like the car. Some people disagree with that, but in the end it is MY choice to make. The same applies to you.

Out of curiosity, what color is the body?

 

That's why I was curious. I'm going with sunset orange and was thinking it might contrast it, but the more I look at things I think I want it to match.

I'm going to be putting black racing stripes and painting the ground effects black as well as a black interior so I think matching the engine bay will work.

I think where my biggest concern was is with the engine color and too much color in the engine bay, but I'm thinking I'm going to go with the sunset orange bay and instead of the standard orange block I'm going to paint the block black instead to balance it all.

I agree except for black engine bays, I think black engine bays look really good with just about any color.

 

agreed, but also depends on how u want the engine to look, if u goin for a clean stock engine i like to do it body color, if ur doing a bright shiny, or stand out engine and you really want the motor to be the focus point then id do black
