Cracked Dash

My 86 TA's dash recenttly cracked from the main defrost vent to the front. It looks horrible because the rest of my interior is in good shape. I went to a dealer, and a new dash pad in $978 Cdn. Are there any alternatives. I was thinking of going to a wrecker, but I was wordering if there are different shades (besides the fact that it will never match perfectly due to sun fadding).

or if you get one from a yard you can always re-dye it so it matches

Go ahead and check the salvage yards... don't worry about fading... they don't fade, they crack and then years later turn white. Or you can get a vinyl repair kit and fill the crack... most people won't notice it if you fill it in right.
