Hello, I just bought an 87 Camaro sport coupe but it doesnt have door keys. How do I open the hatch? I dont think there is any buttons to try to open it. Any help is grealty appreciated! Thanks!

 

You can remove the passenger side door lock, there is a key code for the door key on the lock. Take that key code to locksmith and he can cut you a with the code for 5 bucks or less.

Take your vin to a gm dealer and they will get you keys!!!

 

I tried to do that, I actually work at a Chevy dealer and we can't make keys that far back based on VINs

 

Remove the door panel, there is a little U shaped clip holding the lock in. It just slides out after you remove the lock rod. Be careful when removing the lock rod, the plastic clip can be brittle.

FYI: Its a 4 digit code.

 

I thought they had a a hatch release switch in the center console,there is a my camaro anyway.

 

The power hatch release in the console was an option.

Years ago I mean a lot of years ago I lost the keys to my door. I locksmith made a new one by sticking a blank in the lock turning it until it made marks, ground it down repeated it a few times like magic I had a new key.
