My 91 RS hatch doesnt shut all the way. It latches and opens with the key but I can lift it up a little and it wont shut all the way. I took off the interior panel and it looks like there is a pull down motor cause I see plastic tracks and a slider on the bottom of the latch mechanism. I tried testing it with a voltmeter, black probe to frame and red to all of the wires feeding into a black relay and all of the wiring harness connector ports. Couple wires got me 0.20V, the rest were cold. Read on some other forum posts that this could be fixed in a number of ways. How did you guys fix yours?

Is the frame of the assembly bolted to the body plastic, or metal ?

 

Thanks for asking the question. We'll need to know if the frame is tan colored plastic or metal. THe instructions I sent are for the metal version.
