What is this part called?

It connects the key lock to the actual locking mechanism inside the door. Mine is broken and i need To replace it but can't find anything on it.
Anybody have any idea on what it's called or where I can find one?
Thank you

My phone won't let me attach a pic. It's a small round piece of steel about 5 inches long with plastic connectors on it to connect to the lock and to the locking mechanism.

Is it the metal rod or the plastic connectors. They used to be on classic Industries website, now they are gone.. I would recommend a GM dealship parts department if you can't find...

For that type of part, a salvage yard/pick-and-pull may be a good place to check.

Finally got to upload one. My door is missing the pawl (thanks for that part name) and the plastic connector is broken.

ive called a few local body shops and none carry the pawls or the plastic connectors.

Any idea on a online site that i can order these from?

Id rather not go to a junkyard and have to rip a door apart just to pull a rusted, semi broken part out and deal with this again in the future.

thanks

Re: What is this part called?

Several online camaro parts places have the pawl and lock rod "clips".
Usually listed under the lock section in their catalogues.

You can go to every autoparts store in the nation and pick those plastic connectors up. The rod should be reusable.
