Rear hatch...conveting from auto to man...Has anyone done this?

I'm so sick of fixing the auto hatch that I think its time for a manual. Has anyone done this?
Thanks

I did it on my Sport coupe, but it was definately a half-assed job. The motor on my GTA quit, so I switched it with the one on my SC. I took the non-working motor apart so that I could manually turn it so the latch was at the closed height, then installed it into the car. Voila. No more power pull down

fix it one last time, lower it, and then unplug it. You'll lose the little cargo area light though, mild side-effect, and you'll have to slam the hatch to close it.

Be careful. The reason they put the automatic pull downs in was to gradually vent the air from the car. Owners were having problems shattering the rear defogger equipped hatch windows when they slammed the hatch on hot days with the windows rolled up.
