when the car is in reverse my speedo goes the oppisite direction. Yes, i'm serious.

the fuel guage thing comes (so i hear) becuase the fuel changes levels and moves as the weight shifts. Mine does it too. Temp guage i can't say becuase i don't have one.

Yes,, gear driven,, I should have been more clear I guess.
My gas gauge goes up ¼ tank on the gas & ¼ down on the brakes from where it's supposed to be & it more full when the car is cold. Sounds odd,, but it's become 'normal' in my camaro,, i never had that big of a problem in my firebird. From my understanding (at least I thought I read it somewhere) the the gas tank in the later years of production were imporoved with baffles inside to control sloshing better(I could be wrong though).
Your temp gauge,,, I'd start with making sure you've got a good chassis ground. The problem might just be electrical noise.
