I was in the process of painting my ground effects and was debating on going either back to the original red or a silver trim to change things up.

During my search I found a picture of a Z with the front chin spoiler (bottom piece) being silver with the rest being red. It was in an online article about the 80's iroc but thought it to be an odd combination to just have the front chin spoiler a different color than the rest of the ground effects.

Was that an actual combination to come off the line?

 

Nope, all IROCs had body colour gfx.
