Need Help with Headlight Switch

My Headlight switch has broken loose. When I go to turn the headlights on its not a problem but when I try to turn them off, the whole assembly moves towards the back. I gotta struggle with turning the lights off. I tried to take the **** off but can't. Anyone out there know if I need a special tool or ifI'm just cheating in the weight room? Also, what do I have to look forward to when trying to repair this?

The headlight switch is mounted to the plastic panel, held in by a couple of torx screws. I assume the 89's had the forever used pull out ****. take the torx screws out & pull the switch out,, there is a little button on the top of the switch that hold the **** in place, press it down while pulling the know out & it should pop free. Unplg the switch & replace. As the great Haynes manual says,, installation is reverse of removal.
