ok here is my problem, my hatch motor went out the door, so i hooked it up so that it is at the right height, and now it is basically a standard latch, (motor doesnt go up or down), now my third brake light will not come on, it is the one in the spoiler. is there any way for me to hook this up without having to fix the hatch motor?

The electrical connection to power the HMSL (high mount stop light) is a spring loaded hinge with two spring loaded connectors. It makes contact with a pad on the lower hatch opening. Verify that there is voltage going to the pad. Then clean the contact pad and the buttons with scotch brite or steel wool. Also pull out the HMSL assy and replace any burnt bulbs. Radio Shack has them for $1.99 each. Good luck, Lon.
