there's a guy who put a whole 4th gen interior in his 3rd gen camaro convertible. i mean the dash, consel, leather seats, door panels with speakers in the doors, ect. it looks awsome, however i have the link on my other computer, and don't remember it off hand, but could get it for you later.

Dacuma, are those 4th gen seats in the back too? Did you have to do any cutting or is there a nasty gap on each side?

hey, just put red and black 4th gen seats in my 86 iroc and they fit like a glove!!
My only complaint is when I did the back seats, I had folding rear seats and there is a bar on the console in back as an axis for the old seats. well, fourth gens don't need it (thanks to superior engineering), so i had to pull the carpet back and break the bar and the plate that holds it off. they are spot welded to the body. I then rust sealed it and put foam down for waterproofing. other than that, it was so simple. Oh, I also had 6-way power seats and the wiring harness didn't match up.. Just cut off the new one and attach the old one and it works perfectly. I love them! (they are great for gettin it on!!!!)

Yeah those are fourth gen seats in back too. That fit perfect the only thing is like LS said was that bar on the bottom for the spilt bench. Other than that they fit like a glove. Direct bolt in

Damn, how sweet is that? I wonder how hard it was to get all of that stuff in there? Is there anyway to contact that person and get them to explain how all that was done?

I have been trying to contact the owner of that car for a long time now. He has promised me photos of custom brackets and detailed descriptions of what he did to do the swap. I keep sendign him emails, but he never replies . I do know that it required some cutting of the doorpanels, and custom brackets to mount them. He said that the console was almost a direct fit, with the exception of cutting the front of it and making some brackets for fit the lower bolts. I have also heard that the center console is a fairly simple swap, with the exception of the shifter. I WILL do this, no matter if he gives me any info or not, it will just take much longer. The only difference is that I want to swap in a Trans Am dash/console/door panels, not Camaro ones. This is his web page: http://home.c2i.net/heggestad/camaro/Camaropage.html maybe if you guys leave enough feedback in his guestbook he will help us out!

That looks sweet! I wish he would tell someone how it's done, I'm sure many people would want to do this. It looks awesome though!

ALL 4th gen seats will bolt up to the 3rd gen mounting bolts with no modification. If your 4th gen seats are power, just run a fused 12 volt wire to the connector (should come with the seats when you buy them), and ground the other wire to the chassis. The power wire on my connector is orange. I just spliced into an unused section of the fusebox, and ran that wire to the seats. very simple and they are SOOOOOooooo much better than the thirdgen seats.

Here are the answers to your question:

1>there is a front mounting bracket on the front of the console, I cut it off, maybe u dont have to. It in no way effects the appearance.

2>I have a auto trans, the console I bought was for a 6 speed Trans AM. It still fits fine and looks like i got a 6 spd with a t-handle shifter!

I believe the consoles are little different for each model. The install process took about 10 minutes.

ps.
loved the cup holder on the drive in to work today!

All it took was 10 minutes? That really makes is sound like a worthwhile mod. Does it match the stock dash color very well? Does it's rounded shape look right with the old dash?

You can see a pic of the console on my site, its under the zone section. It is a greyish vinyl and i think it matches just fine. Not to mention I get a brand new shift boot out of the deal.

My audio console it a bit of a mess right now so I cant say if it it looks 100%. But i think it will be fine and looks great right now, and I'm a stickler for the details.

The only problem I am gonna run into is where to mount the window and mirror switches. The ashtray is gonna go for sure, since i dont smoke. Might have to look into smaller switches or something more creative. As for the power mirror....oye, thats a big switch!!!

I've been looking to put some 4th gen leather seats in my car. Do they come in grey or black? I also want to switch to a 4th gen console. I was reading above that the 4th gen's have the power window switches on the door. Has anyone run into that problem, and did you get around it?
