I've always had real good results using Meguire's Body Scrub,, you can get it at Autozone or most of the others. Follow up with a good polish or wax,, whichever you're in the mood for.

It was designed to be used by professionals with a high quality buffer. You can use it by hand, but it is a lot of work. I have done my cars with it a few times by hand and I like the finish. The buffer has a tendancy to splatter which makes the cleanup take twice as long. Waxing is just that, polishing is removing debris and cleaning the surface smooth before a wax is applied.

I've had excellent results with the 2 dollar bottle of SratchOut. It comes in a little yellow bottle. Follow that up with some 3M Wax (cheap version of Zymol) and WHOOP, there's no mo' scratches!

You could pay a paint and body shop between $50-$150 to buff your car. You will not recognize it when you get it back I promise.
This is of course if the scratches are only in the clear, if they are past the clear you are basically screwed.
Never tried any of the off the shelf products
If you are comfortable with it you can get rubbing/ buffing compound and do it yourself

I used 3M swirl remover and followed with 3M wax just the other day. I am totally impressed. I work at a grocery store and I always park away from everything, out by the road. I had four or five of my friends come inside and tell me how awesome my car looked. They all wanted to know what I had used. If you dont want to go to a detail shop, I personally recommend 3M.
