Painting Engine Bay....tips & advice

Im going to be painting my engine bay shortly as the engine is out. Can anyone give me some advice on steps to go about doing this and what materials i should use as far as paints go. I will be using ppg paints but am not sure what i all need.

Do i just need primer and base and clearcoat? or can you get a base with clear already in it?

Any help would be great

Use a degreaser on the painted area's. Then, use a scotchbrite pad and use it on all the painted metal in the hood. That should take away any gloss the paint has, then use compressed air to give a good cleaning out. I would go over it with a good prep solvent then. I sprayed paint right over the old paint. I don't really think it needs to be primered. Then I just base coated it and cleared it. You wouldn't even have to clear it, But I think it looks nicer.
Good luck
