Rear electric latch problems
The power latch on the rear hatch of my ’91 Formula is stuck up. I pushed the hatch release button on the dash and the rear hatch went up put will not go down. It appears that I have 12 Volts to the relay and to the first two terminals on the 4-prong plug that plugs into the motor switch (from left to right). Has anyone else had this problem. Could the relay be bad. The light back there still works, however I don’t know if it is on a different circuit. Also if the motor is bad can I just manually lower it so I can use the car? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I'be had this happen a couple of times.
All I do is wiggle the wires around the motor and eventually it will work again.

Try this, on the motor itself right under the brush type things there a switch/button. you might not be able to really see it, but put your finger down there and push down on it, that should bring your latch back to where it belongs. if you have any questions about this, just ask.
